  1. The Wedding Planner Webquest: Solving systems of equations By J Patterson

  2. His Mom and Dad And Her Mom and Dad Request you presence at the marriage of their children on March 23, 2006 at 7:30 pm at the Rock Church on the Corner. Reception to follow. RSVP requested

  3. You and your Fiancé have finally set the date and chosen the dress and his tux. You’ve reserved the church and sent out the invitations. It’s finally going to happen! This is so exciting! You want all the people important to you to participate in the event! But you can’t decide how many bridesmaids and groomsmen you will have. You do know that there will be 4 ushers involved in the ceremony. THE PRESSURE IS BUILDING!!!

  4. Your always-favorite uncle, Uncle Truman sent you a check as soon as he got his wedding invitation. He stated in the note accompanying the check for $10,000 that he wants to help make this day special and would like to pay for dresses and tuxes for the wedding party and cover the honeymoon.

  5. Since you have already bought the bridal gown and the groom’s tux, this will mean that you must order dresses for each bridesmaid and tuxes for the groomsmen and ushers. You and your intended have decided that the honeymoon will be the trip of a lifetime. You have set aside $7,000 for the honeymoon trip.

  6. You have located 2 bridal shops online that both have great dresses and a really great tuxedo store. So first you must choose the garments for the wedding. Use the links below to make your choices.

  7. Now all you must do is choose the number of bridesmaid and groomsmen for which you will need to order. To do this you will solve a system of equations related to the problem.

  8. Hints: • One of the equations will describe the relationship between the number of tuxes needed and the number of bridesmaid dresses needed. • The other equation will describe the relationship between the cost of the garments and the total you are willing to invest.

  9. Of course, in your Thank You note to Uncle Truman you will write an explanation of what you have done to solve the dilemma and what the final results were. List how many bridesmaids, groomsmen and ushers will be in the wedding and which dresses and tuxes were chosen as well as the cost of each.
