  2. Who Are We? • Reinvigorate Science and Mathematics Teaching • PD responsibility to assist schools across the state • Encourage more students to go on to STEM courses

  3. What We Do • Students have access to information all the time • “Portal” used to • Store information • Provide space for collaboration • between staff • Between students • Between staff and students

  4. Use of (Mobile) Technology • Students have access to desk top computers around the building BUT • Most have laptops • PC, Mac, Tablet, Linux etc • Phones used to • Record lessons • Image • Video • Create multimodal presentations • Contact teachers and peers

  5. Use of Social Media • Used at different levels by different teachers • “You can lead a horse to water ……” • They will use what they are comfortable with • Facebook used to connect teachers with their class beyond the Portal • Students follow staff at conferences on Twitter, Instagram

  6. Assessment / Demonstrations of Learning • Students sit traditional tests but also • Make Documentaries • Prac reports • History videos • Photostories • Learning Journals • Public Presentations to class or larger groups • Displays

  7. Demonstrations of Learning • Earth Summit • Explanation and invitation • Our Display in the foyer
