Introduction • One of the hidden features that isn’t well known on Lightroom is the auto import feature. • It is relatively useful if you just want to download images onto your computer without having to fire up LR to import them at that moment. • Once you start Lightroom, it will automatically import those images into the catalog in a predetermined folder. • Depending on your workflow, this can be very useful.

  4. How to Setup Auto Import • Open Lightroom and click on File in the Menu bar. • Highlight Auto Import and select Auto Import Settings

  5. How to Setup Auto Import • Select Watched Folder by clicking Choose button • Select Destination Folder by clicking Choose button, fill in Subfolder Name if so desired • Enable Auto Import by clicking on Enable Auto Import check box • Click OK to accept settings

  6. Testing Auto Import Settings • Navigate to the Watched Folder as selected in the Setup Auto Import settings • Copy a few images into Watched Folder • Open Lightroom and navigate to the Library Module • In the folder section, navigate to the destination folder/subfolder • Ensure that images have been imported into LR
