Count number of words. • Continue writing for another minute. • Stop. Draw Line. Count number of words. • Write again for another minute. • Stop. Draw Line. Count number of words. • Share Out: What happened to your word count?

Learning to see the depth… Seeing What’s Unsaid Activity • Look at one of the pictures. • Use post-it notes to record the thoughts of the different people in the picture. • With your team, discuss whether or not the characters share the same perspective on what is happening. (How does this apply to teaching literature/writing?)

  3. Seeing the truth… • Write a theme or truism that could be associated with the picture. • Write an essay prompt based on the picture. (The photo is the “Look” section.)

  4. Finding the photos… • The Lens Blog at NY Times • The Guardian

  5. Classical Invention Cards • Draw a topic from the basket. • Complete the classical invention activity for that word.
