  1. Prasidh Krishna wants to be a hit-the-deck bowler Prasdh Krishna had a dream debut for India where he bounced back brilliantly after having a poor show in the first spell. However, he returned with figures of 4/54 in 8.1 overs and became the best by an Indian on debut alongside Shardul Thakur’s three scalps and Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s two wickets in India’s 66-run win over England. However, after that, he said that he would like to be known as a “hit-the-deck” bowler who can break partnerships whenever needed as well. “It didn’t start off well, and they came hard at us because we bowled poorly, but we had belief. We picked wickets in a cluster and that helped us a lot,” Krishna said after the match. “I understood after my third over, I can’t bowl full, and then I hit good length areas, and let the ball do the rest.”

  2. Krishna came in the team after having a good Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign for Karnataka, claiming 14 wickets in seven matches at an average of 24.5 as well. In the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL), he plays for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and he is grateful for that experience which helped him do well. “IPL has helped me, but it’s important in a 10-over format it’s more important to come back. I’d like to be known as a hit-the-deck bowler, and I’m trying to get the length more consistently. I’m going to go back to the drawing board and improve upon it. I hope I can be the partnership breaker for long, because the team needed it at the time, so I was happy to do it,” he concluded. India started their three-match One Day International series with a stunning win. While they need another win to clinch the series against England, the visitors need one win to level the series as well. They will again take on each other on March 26 in Pune.
