  1. My Adventure Story‘The Basement’ An adventure story made just for you by: Maria Joe Choose your own ending with Samantha and Alice. Discovera powerful dark secret of your school. Dare to take the adventure. Song: ‘Bleeding Out’ Band: ‘Imagine Dragons’ Chose it because it’s my favorite song and band 

  2. Your feet click against the marvel floor. The school was quiet. The rain made a soft melody as it hit the windows violently. You turn to your right to find Alice a complete mess. She had rapid breathing, with her finger she curled her long golden hair. Something she did when she was nervous. Her legs were shaking and could barely even walk down the hallway in a straight line. Often you would find her zigzagging. “Geez Alice,” Samantha sighed rolling her bright blue eyes from your left “what are you so scared off?” “That the rumors might be true…” Alice trailed off, feeling unsure to continue. “Alice,” you place a hand on her shoulder “everything will be fine. We are just cleaning the basement out, it can’t be that bad. Plus, I bet that they are just silly jokes.” “I shouldn’t be here in the first place.” Alice pouted and crossed her arms in front of her chest. “It was your guy’s fault for water ballooning the principal’s wife.” “You got to admit, it was funny.” Sam laughed at your side as you remembered how her face got red with anger. She was soaked, completely. You and your friends managed to get to the top floor, open the window and BAM! Water balloons splattered on her head. You reach for the door knob at the end of the dark hallway. The golden knob where you could see your reflection clearly felt cold under your skin. You turned it slowly as you watch Alice from the corner of your eye freak out.

  3. “It’s too dusty in here!”Alice coughed as she blew on an old hard cover book. In bold letters it read the name of your local middle school. “Why couldn’t we just get detention and a warning like all the other times?” “Because we always get that, you just said it your self.” Sam said cleaning a window on the far right. “Plus, they couldn’t handle us any longer.” “True,” you shrug and continue sweeping. A small moment of silence passed between you and your friends, thunder picked up outside, illuminating the dark and grey skies. “Come down with me…” a voice spoke from what seemed the opposite corner from where Samantha was still cleaning the window. Your head snaps up, searching for an owner to the voice. “Come play…” it enchanted again, but this time it sounded closer to you. The hairs in the back of your neck stand on tip and your blood runs cold. “Please, please, please don’t tell me that I’m the only one that heard that…” Alice pleaded. You shake your head slowly and stand completely frozen with your broom in hand clutched tight. You can hear your heartbeat in the drum of your ears, a knot grew in you throat, making it hard for you to swallow. “I-I hear it to-too.” You say giving out a breath, realizing that you have been holding your breath, your lungs ached. “We HAVE to get out of here.” Sam said, fear blazed through her blue eyes. For once, she was scared, and that’s hard to accomplish.

  4. “Come down with me…” The voice enchanted again, this time it echoed through out the hallway walls. It was behind you. You didn’t dare to look, but you could feel an ice cold breath behind your neck, making you run faster. “I just want to play…” “Heck no!” Sam shouted and picked up more speed towards the only thing that could get you and your friends out of there, the big two blue doors at the end of the hallway. You kicked the door open and get welcomed with the cold air. The coldness made you and your friend’s cheeks turn a bright shade of red. Thunder cracked the sky in the background, and more rain fell from the sky. But that never stopped you. Unknown adrenaline rushed to your legs, making you run with invisible strength that you never knew you had. The harsh wind that picked up leafs and dust whipped the hair out of your face. Both you and your friends take a left and dash inside a small forest. Mud splashed up your legs, but you didn’t care. Your mind was clouded with the thought to get away from what ever was behind you. You dodged trees and jumped over bushes, ‘get away… get away.’ you repeat over and over again. That was the thing that gets you running further into the darkness of the forest.

  5. “I think it would be safer if we run to a place where more people were more people are.” You think out loud as you fiddle with your fingers. Your back ached as the tree pressed your back. The voice was gone, at least for now. You, Alice and Samantha are trying to figure out what to do exactly. “You know, where lots of people are, so then they might be able to help us.” You add with a small smile, at this point you would do anything to get away from the voice. Now, its your time to decide. Which place to you think its safer? Your friends are counting on you. You have always been a great leader, and almost never felt the pressure. That is, until now. Your hands by your sides ball into fist and you think it over one more time. Thinking what’s best for everyone. So, what’s it going to be? Go to the nearest mall Go to Pizza Place

  6. “What now?” Alice asked as you guys walked down the busy hallway mall. “It’s gone, is it?” She clutched your arm tighter and walked slower behind you. You didn’t blame her. She has had a very bad ‘voice’ experiences, and now having something chasing her and her friends, probably wasn’t easy for her. You tried to understand, you gave her sympathy. Alice was very grateful for that. Not only are you a leader, but also a good, caring friend that everyone loved to be around with. “Why wouldn’t you play?” The voice… it was back. But this time with a different phrase. “I just want to play…” You, Alice and Sam froze in the middle of the mall. People that past by you, giving you glares and comments. No matter what, you never moved. “Wal-Mart” you mouth to them and they slowly nod back to you. You swallowed dryly, and more fear consumed you. After taking a well needed breath, you realize that you were feeling lightheaded. There was a small chance that you and your friends might be going down the road to madness. But can three people go crazy at the same time? And hallucinate the same thing?

  7. “Oh, candy!” Alice smiled brightly as she walked over to the candy aisle. “No!” You yank her arm back, stopping her from reaching the Skittles in the middle self. “We need to get help, and find out what’s chasing us. We need to stop the voice.” “Yeah…” Alice sighed shaking her head at her floor. “But Skittles and-” “Alice! “ Samantha said snapping at Alice’s childish behavior. “Grow up! We need help!” “Can I help you on something?” A tall girl around the age of fifteen asked as she walked closer to you guys. She had long brown hair that was neatly tied up into a braid, her honey eyes stood out from her pale skin. You read the tag on her shirt ‘Casey’ “I couldn’t help it but the hear you mention the word ‘chasing us’ and ‘voice’ “ There was a pause in between all of you. Your fingers fiddled behind your back and you bit down on your lip. The silence that had fallen soon was lifted by Casey. “Say, are you students at this local middle school for any chance?” She asked making all of your heads turn up in shock. “How do you know?” You ask slowly as you examine her once more. “Come to the storage room, I’ll explain everything.” Casey starts walking down an aisle but you and your friends freeze, until she waved her hand, signaling for you, Sam and Alice to follow.

  8. “It was a rainy day, like this one.” Casey started off her explanation as she sat down on the bottom of a shelf. “My best friend and I were in theatre, we were supposed to go down to the basement and get the costumes for the dress rehearsal.” Casey took a deep breath, as if it was hard for her to continue. “The voice said to us ‘come and play’. My best friend and I froze.” Casey looked up to meet your gaze. “Is that what it said to you?” You nod slowly, wanting to hear more to the story. “I grabbed a book that sat there in the table. There was the school name printed on it.” “I saw that book!” Alice thought out loud, snapping her fingers. “Good, you’ll need it.” Casey said standing up and walking a few feet to the door. “Why?” Alice crooked her head to the side, her thin eyebrows pulled together in confusion. “It’s the story of the school, and what happened in there.” Casey opened the door, you, Alice and Sam walk out of the storage room after her. “It hold all of your answers.” “What do we search for in that book?” Sam asked narrowing her eyes at Casey. “That’s for you to find out.” She gave you a crooked smile before walking to a cash register. Looks like her shift just started.

  9. “I felt it right…” Alice lifted a rag and found the book that you and your friends have been looking for. “Here it is!” “Good,” you sigh as you take it from her hands “now we find what is up with this school.” “Agree” Sam sighed and nodded her head, her eyes never left sight of the book. “I don’t think we should do it here though…” She trailed off thinking of a place to read the book in peace. “How about the hallway?” You suggest with a little shrug. “We cant go anywhere really, its raining out and the book will get ruined. We could go back to Wal-Mart, but Casey said that she wouldn’t help us any more.” “Yeah, your right.” Alice said walked by the door. “Lets go, this place is giving me the chills. You all walk out into the hallway. Your back pressed against a locker and you slide down the wall. The book was thick and heavy in your hands, so you put it down into your lap. You take a deep breath before you flip the thick book cover. “I think we should read the contents.” Alice said from your side as her eyes scanned the page. ‘Owner’ ‘Tragedy’ ‘Legend’ ‘Afterward’ “There!” You slap your finger down at ‘tragedy’ “Page… 56”

  10. “Long ago, when the school first started, there used to be a cemetery. The construction disturbed the spirits that lied there, one of them got specially angry. Dagon For years, it terrorized the school. The students, staff and sometimes parents. It lived in the basement of the school, where his grave once stood. He would blend in with the shadows and be one with the silence.” You re-read that page over and over again. You let a sigh pass through your lips, making your realize that you were holding your breath as you read. “Girls!” A loud booming voice made your head turn up quickly, same thing happened to Sam and Alice. “Are you slacking off?” “Sir!” You stand up and close the book, but your finger stayed in the page. “I think you should read this, its really important and-” “Non-sense!” He says, waving you off. “I just want to see the basement. If your not done, then you are coming back next weekend.” “Sir,” Sam says standing up “there is something in there that could even take a life. Its dangerous and the only way for you to know this is by you reading this.” She takes the book from your hand and opens it up into the principal’s face.

  11. After the principal had read that section, he called the church. A priest came and tried desperately to make Dagon leave. But the results were terrible. The ghost never left. It only got violent with its environment. The only thing left to do, was to take the school down. And so they did. The students and staff will be currently at another middle school as they re-build their own. What happens after a fire? Ashes. And that was all that it was left. Parents, students and staff were informed shortly after. The school went down. Let us hope that so did Dagon. (Medium ending) Click here to go back to the beginning and find a new path.

  12. The walk was short. The rain was still pouring down on you and your friends. Your clothing was soaked. Shivers burned down your back. It was cold, and the chances of getting hyperthermia were high. Extremely high. Pushing the door open, a strong warm wind brushed past you. The heater was on. That was lucky. Shaking, you, Sam, and Alice take a table in the corner. You all sit in silence, as if waiting for something to disturb it. It wasn’t awkward, yet it wasn’t peaceful either. It was just there. After a short while, a tall blond guy walked up to your table. He was wearing the pizza uniform. A white t-shirt with the logo printed in the right side of the shirt, red baseball-cap with a red pair of pants matching the shade of the cap. He bit down on his lip and he looked nervous. “Can I help you with something?” The guy spoke slowly, as if afraid to say something wrong. You all shake your head slowly, you were still shivering under your mint green hoodie. There was a pause. Between everything, it seemed. The guy stood there, you, Sam, and Alice just sat there. From far away, it would have looked like you were staring at the table, but really, you didn’t have your eyes at a certain point. “I can help you.” Now, you choose. Rather go to the mall. Let him help you.

  13. “What kind of help?” Sam sighs by your side, giving the guy a dirty look. “I-I can take you to someone…” he trailed off. Staring down at the ground, dropping his gaze from yours. “To get you dry clothing and… She is really nice and she-” Alice cuts his off. Her blue eyes held a spark, happiness perhaps. “Clothing?!” She smiled from ear to ear. ‘Oh no…. Here we go.’ You think to yourself, knowing that Alice always goes nuts fro clothing. “Really?! What kind?! Can you take us to her?!” “Ur…. Yeah. Like I said she-” And once again, the blonde worker gets cut off, this time by Sam. You grin to yourself. “Wait,” Sam stood up, holding concern in her features. “Who is this ‘she’ you keep talking about. Stranger danger.” “Oh! No, no! She is my boss, Hanna. She will like to help you out, I just couldn’t help to noticed that you looked troubled.” He took a pause, letting Sam take a nod. You and your friends go around the back with the blonde guy that you soon found out his name was James. He looked like he had a good intention. Nothing bad about him, he seemed rather nervous though. Btu for one thing for sure that you noticed, was that James was pure, like the shade white itself.

  14. After meeting Hanna, she sent James back into the front and taking orders. Hanna let you, Sam, and Alice borrow some clothing. After changing into a dry shirt and jeans, she asks you a few questions. “Why were you guys soaking wet?” Hanna asks with kind of a chuckle in between her concerned voice. “Err…” You sighed, thinking it thought a little. “We were walking…” You smile sheepish. Hoping that she will buy that. “Really? Cause I saw you running through the glass window. Is something chasing you?” You and your friends all exchange looks. Then all of the eyes in the room are fixed on you. A weight of pressure filled your chest, making it hard to breath for you. The feeling of lightheaded washed over you, like a wave in the beach. The choice is in your hands. Tell the truth about ‘the voice’ Say you were playing tag with someone else and go back to the mall (Lie)

  15. After ten minutes of explaining about how you got into detention, and what you had to do, Hanna just nods, as if understanding. The small fear that she would think that you and your friends are crazy sparked through you, wondering it was really the right thing to do. After a short pause, Hanna finally spoke up. “Move,” She sighed slightly sad. Your eyebrows furrow and you frown in confusion. “What? Move? What are you going with this?” You start babbling questions out to Hanna. Finally, she lifts a finger up, making you go quiet. “The same thing happened to me, it sucks, I know.” Sadness overwhelmed Hanna’s face, and you just pretended not to see the tears in the eyes that threatened to fall. “I told my mother, after an accident. She found out it wasn’t my childish imagination. We moved.” A single tear glided down her cheek, then down to her jaw line. “At least, you hear it together, you believe each other and you may move to a same school.” You, Sam, and Alice all move. (Low ending.) Click here to go back to the beginning and get a different ending.

  16. “We were playing tag with some other guys. But we lost them in the rain, so we thought that it would be nice to come here.” Your mouth goes dry. This is the first time that you have ever lied to some else. “Ye-yeah,” Alice decides to join in with the whole ‘tag’ thing. You give her a small smile and she just nods back slowly. “Yes, tag! That’s all!” Sam said nervously from behind you. “We will make sure that tomorrow we return the clothing. Thanks for that. But we will be on our way now, thanks.” You said in a sudden rush as you start backing away towards the door. You could feel your stomach grumble, you checked the clock hanging at the right corner. 2:46, it was late. Then you suddenly remember that you still had to clean the basement. Turning to Sam and Alice, you fear that because of whatever is chasing you will keep you away from working on the basement. Alone, you dash back to the basement.

  17. When you finally arrived back to the school you were soaking wet, again. “So much for dry clothing…” You think as you walk down the hallway, straight for the basement. You take deep breaths before walking in to darkness. “Whatever you are, come out!” You scream to the dark, nothing happens. You smile to yourself and prove to yourself it was just your imagination. That is until you see something glows, bathing in the blackness. Two red gems, that seemed to get closer and closer to you. When it was closer, you squinted, finding a silhouette of a tall man. He grinned brightly, showing off his teeth that looked like knives in his gums. You swallowed dryly as you try to remain calm. You search for something, a source to help you hang on and back away from the guy. You run towards the door, with the idea of remaining calm blown out of your mind. As you dash over to the light coming in from the hallway, something tight grips your ankle. It pushes you down, making your chin hit hard on the wooden floor. It drags you slowly, into the dark. With your fear, your throat closes, making your screams muffled. The End (High ending) Click here to go back to the beginning, choose a better ending.
