  3. Agenda • Obtaining logo requirements • Testing your router • Submitting your router for Windows Logo certification

Obtaining Logo Requirements • Visit LogoPoint in Winqual to browse the Windows 7 Logo requirements for routers • View the LogoPoint Prepared Requirement Reports for a consolidated list of requirements for routers • Network-Router • Network-Wireless Router • Verify that a router meets the requirements by using the Windows Logo Kit

  5. Testing Your Router • Obtain the latest version of the Windows Logo Kit (WLK) • Obtain the required testing hardware • Set up the test environment • Run the logo tests • Obtain a passing log file

  6. Prerequisite Hardware • 1 Driver Test Manager (DTM) Controller machine • 1 DTM Studio machine • 4 DTM Client machines • 2 or more 100 megabit switches • Router under test

  7. Hardware Specifications • Use the DTM install.htm file to find DTM Controller and DTM Studio system specifications • Use the DTM Help contents to find DTM Client system specifications for routers • Router Logo Program Test Lab Setup (non-wireless) • Wireless Router Logo Program Testing

Setting Up the DTM • View installation information in the install.htm file of the Windows Logo Kit • View the Windows Logo Program webcasts on Windows Hardware Developer Central • Driver Test Manager Controller Installation • Driver Test Manager Studio Installation • Driver Test Manager Client Installation

  9. Router Test Environment A “Y” above the computer means that it is wirelessly connected

  10. Configuring the Router • Enable the DHCP server • Set IP addressable WAN port to 17.1.1.1 • Set IP LAN to 192.168.0.1 • Set subnet mask to 255.0.0.0 • Set default gateway to 17.0.0.2 • Set DNS1 to 192.168.0.2 • Set DNS2 to 192.168.0.3

  11. Configuring LAN1 and LAN2 • Connect two of the Ethernet cards to the LAN side of the wireless router. (One mustbe QOS 802.1p-capable.) • Connect the third Ethernet card to the DTM network. • Rename the network connections DTM: connection to DTM LAN_P: connection to LAN side of router with QOS LAN: connection to LAN side of router without QOS Wireless: connection that is wireless

  12. Configuring LAN1 and LAN2 (cont.) • Ensure all connections are marked “Private” in Network Sharing Center. • Run configuration jobs Setup Machine LAN1 Setup Machine LAN2

  13. Configuring WAN1 • Connect one Ethernet card to the WAN side of the wireless router. (A switch may be used if there is only one port for the WAN interface.) • Connect the other Ethernet card to the DTM network. • Rename the network connections DTM: connection to DTM WAN: connection to the WAN side of the router Wireless: wireless connection

  14. Configuring WAN1 (cont.) • Ensure all connections are marked “Private” in Network Sharing Center. • Run the configuration job Setup Machine WAN1

  15. Configuring WAN2 • Connect two of the Ethernet cards to the WAN side of the router. (A switch may be used.) • Connect the remaining Ethernet card to the DTM network. • Rename the network connections DTM: connection to the DTM WAN1: connection to WAN side of the router WAN2: connection to WAN side of the router

  16. Configuring WAN2 (cont.) • Ensure all connections are marked “Private” in Network Sharing Center. • Run the configuration jobSetup Machine WAN2

  17. Running the Logo Tests 1. Open the Device Console.

  18. Running the Logo Tests (cont.) 2.Open a New Submission. 3. Select Windows 7 Client. 4. Select Device Submission.

  19. Running the Logo Tests (cont.) 5. Select Network > Wireless Router. 6. Select the logo qualification level.

  20. Running the Logo Tests (cont.) 7. Select the machine pool that you configured to run these tests. 8. Enter a name for the submission.

  23. Running the Logo Tests (cont.) 11. Enter the device’s WPS PIN, BSSID, and MAC address.

  24. Running the Logo Tests 12. Select the jobs you want to run, click Add Selectedto queue the jobs, and then click Schedule Jobs.

  25. Obtaining a Test Log 13. Create a submission package when the jobsare completed.
