Performance Objectives • Identify potentially dangerous situations and plan an effective intervention • Assess your own thinking and make adjustments to effectively intervene with offenders. • Using the Behavior Continuum, translate the offender’s behavior into English to better plan your approach. • List the three components assessed when your intuition is “Triggered”

  4. Self-Reflect • What am I thinking? • What am I Feeling? • How is that thinking/feeling going to look to the offender? • How will s/he respond?

  5. Self-Reframe • What do i need to be thinking/feeling to be effective?

  6. Others • Dress • Hygiene • GMA • Change in behavior

  7. Others • What do I think this offender is thinking and feeling? • How is that going to effect my ability to gain cooperation? • What else do I know about this offender?

  8. Planned Approach • Given what I know, what’s the Best time and the best way to approach this situation? • What am I going to say/do as I approach this offender?

  9.
