  1. CSE 3 Fluency with Information Technology Mustafa Nasr Overview Fluency with Information Technology (FIT) is a course that covers many important computer skills that can be used in many career fields. These skills can be used for computational , data analysis and data presentations. A few topics covered: • Becoming Skilled at Information Technology • Algorithms and Digitizing Information • Data and Information Analysis and Presentation • Problem Solving We learned some of the basic functions within photo editing programs that can help create useful animations that can be used to show change. Also, we learned how to properly “polish” a photo to fix any imperfections while retaining the realism of the photo. Computational thinking builds on the power and limits of computing processes, whether they are executed by a human or by a machine. Computational methods and models give us the courage to solve problems and design systems that no one of us would be capable of tackling alone. Image Analysis and Manipulation with Photoshop Computational Thinking Scratch is a programming language developed by MIT to make programming simplistic for young programmers. The program makes it very easy to get an idea of how to construct basic programs such as games or animations. This program is very similar to playing with Lego's…but it’s still a programming language. Simple and sophisticated. Visual Programming with Scratch Presentation of Informationwith Word & Excel We also practiced putting together all our course work to create a web page that can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection. We created hyperlinks within the HTML code that would link directed to our course documents and projects. We are able to take large amounts of compiled data and create useable charts that show trends and organize data into something useful rather than a heap of numbers and words. This stuff was kind of boring…zzz…zzz…but still useful.  Making Information Available to the World with HTML and Web Pages Data Analysis and Visualization with Excel
