It is with your assistance that we are able to educate, motivate, and empower a genre of highly qualified and progressive nursing, allied health, medical staff and community physicians. Purpose Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in the United States.  The purpose of this symposium is to raise awareness of guideline directed medical and surgical therapy to optimize the management of cardiovascular disease. This training is designed for clinical care providers including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurses, dentists, podiatrists, social workers, residents, and pharmacists interested in acquiring the latest information and sharing best practices. Objectives Describe the current approach to the diagnosis of newly discovered cardiomyopathy. Identify patients with heart failure secondary to valvular heart disease who will benefit from intervention. Identify patients at risk for stroke and systemic embolism with atrial fibrillation. Identify treatment options for peripheral arterial disease Identify best practices in the treatment of acute coronary syndromes (ACS).
