Progress of Riga and Pieriga Mobility Plan (RRMP)

Structure of RPMP (content) • Assessment of existing situation • Setting up and approval of goals to be reached • Development of modelling system (based on existing EMME/2) • Elaboration of various scenarios for development of transport system • Detailed elaboration of recommended scenario • Elaboration of Working program for implementation of selected scenario MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS OF THE REPUBLIC OF LATVIA

Development of major infrastructure projects in Riga • Transfer of port activities out from city centre to the Krievu sala (CF): • Construction 2010 -2013 • Transfer of activities after 2013 • Modernization of infrastructure of Riga airport and access roads (CF): • Construction 2010-2013 • Construction of new passenger terminal in airport Riga– 2010 -2012 (PPP project) MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS OF THE REPUBLIC OF LATVIA

Feasibility studies on the left bank of Daugava • Supporting feasibility studies before implementation these projects: • “Feasibility Study on Railway Routes to the Port Terminals on the left bank of the Daugava River and to the International Airport “Riga”” - need to be prolonged until 2010! (2004/LV/16/C/PA/001) • “Technical Assistance Project “Renovation of Riga Railway Network” -need to be prolonged until 2010! (2004/LV/16/C/PA/001) • Connection of Riga airport to the main road network and Riga city – 2009 – 2010 All activities above are included in ToR of RPMP and must be considered within elaboration process!
