County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Soliciting Proposals • Send an e-mail to departmental managers. • Present the PIF process at a Division Manager’s meeting. • Reach out to the IT Department managers. • Post the forms, guidelines, and PIF projects on the Department’s website for managers.

  3. County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Reviewing Proposals • Review for accuracy and plain language. • Obtain signatures from the Project Manager, Budget/Finance Manager, and Department Head. • Submit proposal to the Quality and Productivity Office

  4. County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Preparing for PIB and Commissioners Meetings Project Manager • Prepare a few PowerPoint slides to explain the project. • Bring props that will help support the project, if appropriate. • Based on feedback from the PIB Advisory Committee, revise the PowerPoint presentation as necessary.

Preparing for PIB and Commissioners Meetings County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Productivity Manager • Calendar the Productivity Investment Board and Quality and Productivity Commissioners meetings on the Department Head’s calendar. • Brief the Department Head about the project and provide talking points. • Attend all meetings with the Project Manager and Department Head. Make introductions at all meetings.

  6. Project Approval County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works • Coordinate approval of the Schedule of Withdrawals and Payments form, and Agreement for Acceptance of Funds. • Submit forms to Grants Management Section for tracking.

  7. Reports County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works • Prepare Annual Status Report and Final Report. • Project Manager input • Department Head signature • Submit to Quality and Productivity Commission’s Office.

  8. County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Your role as a Productivity Manager is to facilitate the PIF process.
