  2. Starting Building Your ILP To start your ILP, click the Begin button on the Overview page. The are four steps to the process of building your ILP. After you complete each step of the ILP you can submit your ILP for review and feedback.

  3. Step 1 – Define Career Goals To start the process of selecting your career goals for the year, you must select at least one from the career categories listed. Next answer each question to complete the step.

  4. Step 2a – Access Core Competencies Step 2 assesses your level of competence based on the ACGME 6 Core Competencies. Use the Dreyfus Model as a guide to help you with the assessment. To evaluate your knowledge, skills, and performance click the Assess button next to each competency.

  5. Step 2a continued – Access Core Competencies After clicking the Assess button next to each competency use the Sliders to gauge your level of competence.

  6. Step 2b – Select Core Competencies Now that you have assessed your competencies, it’s time to select the one’s you want to focus on improving for the next year. Click the Review and make selections button. Check the box next to the competency element you want to improve upon. You must select at least one element for improvement.

  7. Step 3a – Assess Personal Attributes Step 3 In this step you will identify personal strengths and weaknesses that you would like to improve upon this year. To rank your personal attributes from stronger to weaker Click on the attribute, Drag it to the desired position on the ranking scale, Release it. Next, answer the following questions on the page to complete this step.

  8. Step 3b – Select Personal Attributes Now that you have ranked your personal attributes select at least one attribute you would like to focus on improving this year by checking the box next to the attribute.

  9. Step 4 You have reached the final step of creating your ILP. To see sample objectives click the link. To create an objective click the Add an objective button. Learning Objectives that are in progress will carry over from year to year. Click the Finished button to complete the ILP process. Step 4 –Develop Learning Objectives

  10. Clicking the Finished button will take you back to the Overview page of the ILP. When you are ready to submit your ILP click the Submit button. Select who you would like to submit your plan to, if you do not see their name on the list contact your coordinator. Submit ILP
