  2. Coastal Gujarat Power Ltd (CGPL) was incorporated on 10th Feb. 2006, Tata Power acquired CGPL on 22 April 2007. It’s India’s first Ultra Mega Power Project that is based on Super Critical Technology. Location : The 1,200 hectare site is located in coastal area, south of Tunda village in Mundra taluka, Kutch district of Gujarat. Capacity : 4000 MW, 5 units of 800 MW each. Finance : 17000 carore that is also Asia Pacific Power Deal of the year 2008.

  3. Super Critical Technology Above the critical pressure of water 221.5 kg/cm2 & temp. 5650 C water is converted into a super critical fluid. It’s also called once -through technology. Shorter start-up times. Higher efficiency. 5% reduction in fuel consumption. 5% reduction in CO2 emission / MWh energy output.

  4. Coal Handling System Imported from Indonesia at Mundra port. Parts : ECHS & ICHS. Conveyer belt 11 km long from port to plant. Quality : Bituminous Size : 20 mm Asia’s largest Staker for TPP, that’s capacity 6800 T/Hr.

  5. Water System Water is comes direct from sea by 8 km long & 60 m wide canal. CW Capacity: 6,35,000 cub/hr Purification system 1 pass : general use 2 pass : DM water for fulfilling of boiler.

  6. Oil & Air System for Burner • Oil : 2 tanks of HFO & 1 tank of LDO is used. • Air : FD & PA Fan • For burning of 1 ton coal 1.2 ton air is used & also reduce the effect of Sox & Nox • In burner tangential corner firing system is used.

  8. Turbine & Generator Impulse type turbine is used here, total 3 turbines HP, IP & LP. Speed of alternator is 3000 RPM Generator rating is 26kV, o/p Capacity is 830MVA/830MW

  9. Ash Handling System Dry & Wet AHS

  10. Switchyard Rating : 400kV It supply power in 5 states. (Gujarat, , Maharastra, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan) The project, awarded by India’s Ministry of Power through tariff based competitive bidding.
