  2. Best Practices for Community Engagement Where is there a need? • Learn about the community or communities around you. What can you do to increase knowledge, experiences, improve a situation, etc.

  3. Best Practices for Community Engagement We are not an island. • Find a partner or partners in the community with whom you can collaborate. Meet with them, welcome their input and ideas. Work together.

  4. Best Practices for Community Engagement Serendipitous Moments Take advantage of opportunities that you have. Are you looking to present something at a conference? What can you do to use this opportunity to create a meaningful connection and increase community engagement?

  5. Best Practices for Community Engagement What’s Your Slogan? Are you going to be like Nike and just do it? Are you going to give up when things get difficult or are you going to sing Faith Hill’s song Just Breathe? Commit to doing what you set out to do. Be Tim Gun and make it work.
