  1. Pedagocical Progression for the Master CSE Curriculum Lars Bengtsson, labe@chalmers.se Background/Introduction Quality in education is of utmost importance. A structured approach like ”CDIO – Conceive Design Implement and Operate”, an international cooperative effort to help universities form high level engineering programs, is a model that can be used to help reach this goal. • Master Programs: • Software Engineering and Technology – ”SET” • Interaction Design – ”ID” • Integrated Electronics Systems Design – ”IESD” • AIM/GOAL • Increased quality of the learning process without increased resourses. • Adapt courses in Master programs at D&IT towards the ”CDIO” (Conceive Design Implement Operate) concept. • Expected results • Improved learning. • More motivated students. • More exchange of ideas and experiences among the instructors. • Method • Adopting Master programs and courses towards CDIO. • Forming ”red threads” in the programs. • Coordinate courses within each program. • Prioritize within each program. • Increasing the collaboration between the instructors. • Outlook • Many universities wordwide have adopted CDIO (www.cdio.org). • Examples include MIT, KTH, CTH, LiTH. CSU, DTU. • Further detailed information • Copies of program descriptions found next to this poster • SET – Software Engineering and Technology • ID – Interaction Design • IESD – Integrated Electronic Systems Design • Evaluation-Quality assurance • A continous process of course evaluations and course improvement within each Master program at D&IT are used to help instructors and program coordinators improve their courses and programs.
