Objectives Assemble a representative and knowledgeable group of the key emerging leaders within the U.S. space sector to • identifythe role of the U.S. Government in the commercial space sector • how this role should evolve in the future from the perspective of the assembled group Connect emerging leaders throughout the industry with peers and current industry leaders

  4. Workshop Products • Out-brief Tuesday at 4 PM • Further research/development after workshop • Paper/Presentation IAC 2012, Naples Italy • Additional presentations possible

  5. Method • Identify role of government in commercial space as: • Customer • Supplier • Regulator • International Representation • Identify how this role may evolve in the future • What are the key things that need to be considered?

  6. Method II • Consider government effect on competitive forces: • Threat of Entry • Intensity of Rivalry Among Existing Competitors • Pressure from Substitute Products • Bargaining Power of Buyers • Bargaining Power of Suppliers

Industry Definition • Scope is as broad as group feels appropriate • From comsats to commercial crew • Certain cross-cutting topics exist • What is considered important by this group? • What possible improvements can be made? • Certain sector-specific topics exist • What is considered important by this group? • What possible improvements can be made?
