  2. What is OCD? • OCD is an anxiety disorder and is usually is characterized by recurrent, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and/or repetitive behaviors. (Compulsions)

  3. Signs And Symptoms • A person with OCD may have the urge to perform certain rituals, or have constant, unwelcome thoughts or images. • Examples of certain rituals: washing hands constantly, have doubt in things so check them over and over, stepping on cracks in the concrete and walking back over them with the other foot.

  4. Treatment • Some therapy is offered • Mental health services • Or self-help

  5. Common Obsessions • Fear of dirt or germs • Concerns with order, symmetry, balance, and exactness • Coming across unlucky numbers or words • Illnesses or injury of themselves or others • Things being even or straight/perfect • Making mistakes or not being sure • Doing or thinking something bad • Superstitions

  6. Facts • 1 in 50 adults have OCD • Twice that many have had it at somme point in their life
