  3. Affirmative tú Commands Attach pronouns to affirmative commands. Direct Object Pronouns Put it on the table. ¡Ponlo en la mesa! Read the novel. (it) ¡Léela! Reflexive verbs (only te because it is tú commands) Lavarse  ¡Lávate! Ponerse ¡ponte!

  4. Affirmative tú Commands Accents – place the accent over the second syllable from the end of the verb before the pronoun is attached. Sacar la basura   bañarse   sácala saca la basura baña (te) báñate

  6. Negative tú commands The pronouns go before the verb and after the word “NO”. Don’t read it. No lo leas. Don’t eat them. No las comas. Don’t go to bed. No te acuestes. Don’t wash your face. No te laves la cara.

  8. Present Progressive Attach the pronoun to the participle (-ando or -iendo) or place it before estar. I am reading it. (the book) Estoy leyéndolo. or Lo estoy leyendo. He is shaving. (afeitarse) Él está afeitándose. or Él se está afeitando. Accent rules are the same as with commands.

  9. Present Progressive • Ella sacar fotos ___________________________ • Yo tomar el ponche ___________________________ 3. Tú despertarse ___________________________ 4. Nosotros vestirse ___________________________ Ella está sacándolas. Yo estoy tomándolo. Tú estás despertándote. Nosotros estamos vistiéndonos.

  10. Preterite (or present) Place pronoun before the conjugated verb or attach it to the infinitve. He read it. (the novel) Él la leyó. He had to read it. Él tuvo que leerla.

Preterite Practice • Los pasajeros subieron a la montaña. ____________________________ • Yo facturé las maletas. ____________________________ • Nosotros quisimos tomar el sol. ____________________________ • Mis padres tuvieron que hacer muchos viajes el año pasado. ____________________________ Los pasajeros la subieron. Yo las facturé. Nosotros quisimos tomarlo. Mis padres tuvieron que hacerlos.
