  9. Finalizing the installation • After installing the software and connecting the hardware: • Log onto your computer as an administrator (Windows NT/2000/XP users only) • Start VAB (under Programs-VAB for Infinity-VAB) • Allows VAB to “recognize” all blocks for use in experiments

  10. Testing the System • On computer, start VAB (under Programs-VAB for Infinity-VAB) • Go to “Testing the System” Laboratory • Open and go through lab worksheets (e.g. Mic and Cosine test) and make sure everything works as indicated • If you have problems, post questions on the Discussion Board at the Infinity Project website

  11. Digital Music Setup • Some of our best digital music designs (e.g. in Chapter 2) utilize MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) • MIDI-based VAB worksheets accept MIDI music from the PC • To use MIDI with the Infinity Technology Kit, you must install two freeware programs • MIDI-OX and MIDI-YOKE • See http://www.infinity-project.org/MIDI.pdf for complete installation instructions

  12. Further Installation Support • The Infinity Technology Kit is designed for ease of use and installation • If you do have technical questions, use the message forum at http://www.infinity-project.org/tech_kit_discuss.html
