  4. Has classroom instruction as its sole purpose Uses NTTI Strategies to integrate technology effectively Is written by a teacher for use in his/her classroom A Media-Rich Lesson Plan

  7. Purposes of an Introductory Activity • Motivate Students • Introduce the lesson • Check for prior knowledge • Introduce lesson vocabulary • Generate student interest in the topic

  9. Purposes of Learning Activities • Exposes the student to the lesson content • Encourages learning though student interaction with the media • FPPF/FAF provides teachers with mini-assessments as the lesson progresses

  11. Purposes of a Culminating Activity • Summarize the lesson • Allows students to demonstrate what they have learned • Provides teachers an assessment of the lesson

  12. Learn the NTTI strategies Learn the parts of a Media-Rich lesson Learn about the media resources available Look for media resources that could be used by you to teach your content Develop a concept for your Media-Rich lesson At the Institute

  13. Write a Media-Rich lesson that uses the NTTI Strategies to effectively integrate technology Consider collaboration with a colleague on a lesson that you both could use Prior to the first follow-up

  14. Assignments Tonight – Think of what you will be teaching between late October and the end of the year. Come up with 3 to 6 topics that you think could be taught better with the use of technology The rest of the Institute – watch for hardware and software resources that you can use in those lessons, but keep an open mind as you may find something unexpected that may suggest a different lesson plan.
