Supervisor’s Role at the beginning • Supervisor to login in Speed Net software • Perform the Day begin • Allocate the job among SAs / MTS. • He would assign the work • Among SAs for mail agency / bag receipt desk, bag opening desk, sorting, bag closing desk and bag despatch desk. • among MTS officials also.

Process at Bag Receipt Desk • TD and NTD bags separately kept for opening at Bag Opening Desk • If any PO is not preparing TD and NTD bags separately, it has to be brought to the notice of Supervisor • Supervisor should contact Postmaster concerned over telephone • Ensure separate receipt as TD and NTD bags

Process at Bag Opening Desk • TD and NTD bags are opened one by one • Total number of articles received is tallied with the articles invoiced in the speed post manifest • TD & NTD Articles should not be mixed • After receipt of all articles by scanning each article, they should be transferred to Sorting Desk.

  12. Process at Sorting Desk • All SAs should be aware of the latest sorting extract • Articles are sorted as prescribed in the prototype sorting case of 50 pigeon holes at 2 levels. • Speed and Accuracy be maintained in sorting • Sorted articles be checked to eliminate missents

  13. Process at Bag Closing Desk • After sorting is completed at Sorting desk, work at bag closing desk start • Close the bags by scanning each and every article

Responsibilities • Entire set / shift (SAs & MTS Officials) would be collectively responsible for any unexplained variation in the abstract • It would be collective responsibility of the entire set / shift for the safety of speed post articles • Each official is responsible for safety, security and cleanliness of the hardware & equipments used by them. • In case of any technical issues, seek the help of System Administrator • Run the Speednet communication at regular intervals
