  4. Physical Description and Information • -Strontium is part of the alkaline earth metals, family number two. It has 2 valances. • -Strontium is a solid. • -And its element classification is metal. • -Strontium main color is red.

History of Strontium • -In 1790 an Irish Chemist Adair Crawford discovered Strontium. • -He discovered the element unexpectedly, he mixed witherite with hydrochloric acid. • -Strontium was first confined by Sir HumphryDavy. In 1808 through the electrolysis of a mixture of strontium chloride and mercuric oxide. • -Strontium is named after a town in Scotland.

Uses and Impact on Human Life • -Today Strontium is used to manufacture the color tubes in televisions. • -Ceramics and special glass has strontium in the manufacturing. • -One of the isotopes is used in the industry and medical studies. • -Strontium supplements has many side effects. It causes nausea that leads to skin irritation, also fainting and blood clots.

  7. Strontium is used to make the color in fire works.
