  1. The Federalists versus The Republicans Pamela Jodhan US History I January 24,2013

  2. George Washington ( 1789- 1797 George Washington wasn’t trilled about becoming the first president of the United States. When Washington took office in 1798 he pledged to “ preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the United States.” Only to turn the ideas created in the constitution into a working government. He felt he had to create a well put together office for the presidency and to make it a memorable one. In Washington's farewell addresses he gave three pieces advice to his countrymen. Washington said we should not get to close or to absorbed with the other countries, he said that we should keep far away from political parties because their dangerous. Lastly, he told his country men to stay together and bear the differences because we are all Americans.

  3. Federalists versus Republicans Alexander Hamilton; Federalists Thomas Jefferson; Republican

  4. Federalists views Being a federalist as Alexander Hamilton was he's views on human nature was extremely different from republicans. He viewed people as hoggish, mindless and untrustworthy. He believes that people base their decisions on what is best for their benefit. The Federalists views the economy were tenacious. They're a strong supporter of an almighty central government. They feared that if most governments handed the power to the people or the states, they were most likely to self-interest. There sharp critics and they think that he Alexander had given too much power to discrete states then not enough to the central government.

  5. Republican Views Being a Republican that Thomas Jefferson was he believed in the common man. He was assured that people with too much power were danger some. He thinks that the government should be able to carry out the ambitions of the people. He thinks that if people are alert to what's going on in their surroundings then they can be able to make good decisions. The Republican views the government are that they believed people can govern themselves. They favored in giving more power to state governments. They felt that decisions should be made by the people because their lives will be most affected by them.

  6. John Adams ( 1797-1801) John Adams was elected the 2nd president of the united states in 1797 by a Slim Margin. He had a load of political experience, he was the leader of Revolution. Adams served 2 terms as Washington's VP. He was a federalists who believed in the common man. Adams was a well respected man but he was not liked. John Adams was very intelligent and of course not liked. During Adams presidency a country was split, this was the cause of the war between the French and the British. Congress passed the Sedition Acts to spot and public criticism. However the Republicans viewed it as unconstitutional. His actions did determine the political party he belonged to.

  7. Thomas Jefferson (1801-1809) Thomas Jefferson is a republican he viewed that the federal government should be frugal, tiny- small and limited powers. Jefferson cut the number of federal officials and minimized the size of the army and navy. Thomas Jefferson revoked the tax on whisky and let the alien and Sedition Acts expire. As time moves on France offers to sell Louisiana to the U.S for $15 million! In buying the territory we had two advantages. It would double the size of the country and allow farmers to use the Miss. River in order to ship crops to distant markets. Indeed they submitted the purchase treaty to the senate for approval. Federalists opposed their decisions because they feared for the future for the republic and because of constitutional grounds. On December 3,1803 Louisiana became apart of the united states.

  8. Reflection I think the country should've listened to George Washington because he could've made a huge impact on the world. If the country didn’t have political parties then we would all be domed. If we didn’t have political parties in my opinion the people wouldn’t be able to have a say or be able to take part in what the government is doing. Politicians should take actions on what is best for the American people. Politicians shouldn't do what is only best for their views because its in their best interest to see what is best for the people as well. It’s the Americans who make a country and sustain a country. They should definitely be involved in the politicians actions.
