  1. Led by the Spirit Romans 8:12-17

  2. Romans 8:12-17(HCSB) 12So then, brothers, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh, 13 for if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

  3. Romans 8:12-17(HCSB) 14 All those led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons. 15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!” 16 The Spirit Himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children, 17 and if children, also heirs —heirs of God and coheirs with Christ

  4. Galatians 5:16-17(HCSB) 16I say then, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you don’t do what you want.

  5. Colossians 2:20-23(HCSB) 20If you died with the Messiah to the elemental forces of this world, why do you live as if you still belonged to the world? Why do you submit to regulations: 21 “Don’t handle, don’t taste, don’t touch”? 22 All these regulations refer to what is destroyed by being used up; they are commands and doctrines of men.

  6. Colossians 2:20-23(HCSB) 23 Although these have a reputation of wisdom by promoting ascetic practices, humility, and severe treatment of the body, they are not of any value in curbing self-indulgence.

  7. Galatians 5:25(HCSB) 25 Since we live by the Spirit, we must also follow the Spirit.

  8. Ephesians 5:18(HCSB) 18And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless actions, but be filled by the Spirit:

  10. Isaiah 61:1-3 (NKJV) “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

  11. Isaiah 61:1-3 (NKJV) To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,

  12. Isaiah 61:1-3 (NKJV) To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
