Situation of French terminals • Definitions: methane terminals are gas infrastructures which receive liquid natural Gases (LNG) et transform it into gas in order to inject it in the transport network. In France there are nowadays 2 terminals : • Terminal of Fos TonkinatFos-sur-mer, near Marseille, • Terminal of Montoir, near Saint-Nazaire. • A third, terminal de FosCavaou, at Fos-sur-mer, is in construction. Terminal of Montoir

Methane terminals of Fos Tonkin and of Montoir • Managed by Elengy, subsidiary of GDF Suez • Capacity to transform: 7 et 10 Gm3/year. • Le terminal de FosCavaou • Capacity to transform: 8,25 Gm3/year • Managed by STMFC (Société des TerminauxMéthaniers de Fos Cavaou;70,2 % by GDF Suez 29,8 % by TOTAL). • Order of activity: (in 2008) • Terminal of Fos Tonkin 142 methane boats transformation of 58,0 TWh of gaz • terminal de Montoir 91 methane boat transformation 80,5 TWh of gaz. Terminals receive about 30 % natural gas of France.
