Who or what is a Healthcare Administrator? • It is someone who will: • Manage Employees • Prepare and maintain budgets • Problem solve and make decisions • Above all it is someone who: “will procure resources and perform other administrative functions so that the clinical professionals can provide their services.” BHA degree Program – Texas State University

  3. Who am I? HOSA Pharmacy Runner/Technician Intrigued by the “ C’s “ of the Hospital Willing to leave home and take chances Texas State Graduate Pharmacy Technician/buyer ( again) Converted our Hospital PHA system Offered a job at Corporate The rest is history.

  4. What I do? Responsible for the implementation of full Clinical Health Information systems in HCA facilities across the country I manage a staff of highly specialized Clinicians and IT specialists that work together to implement systems to better serve the people taking care of our Customers/Patients

  5. How do we do this? Project milestones and controls to make sure we don’t fail. Best Practices- Project Management Principles Collaboration with facility leadership 100-200 people to build system that touches upwards to 1000+ people in the facility
