  2. Current Fleet of Air Europa Boeing 767-300: 2 units Boeing 737-800: 26 units Airbus 330-200: 6 units Embraer 195: 6 units Total Fleet: 40 aircraft

Lufthansa LINK2000+ Programme of Eurocontrol Air Europa joined LINK2000+ Programme as Pioneer Airline in January 2004 Sep’2004: first B737-800 forward fit VDL 2 Nov’2005: first flight with operational use of CPDLC Today 16 B737-800 aircraft equipped with ATN/VDL2 Next step: PM-CPDLC and VDL 2 Multi-Frequency

  4. CASCADE Programme of Eurocontrol Air Europa joined CASCADE Programme as Pioneer Airline in January 2007 Today all B737-800 and A330-200 aircraft are certified for ADS-B-OUT ADS-B-IN under consideration.

  5. Atlantic Interoperability Initiative to Reduce Emissions (AIRE) Oceanic Demonstration • Air Europa invited by the FAA to participate in AIRE oceanic trials in NAT. • 2008 – AIRE Phase I: (May’08) pre-operational trials. Around 1% fuel savings. Air Europa unique airline. • 2009 – AIRE Phase II: (Jun-Oct’09) Air Europa participated with 117 flights. Great success. Fuel savings: avrg. of 490 per flight. • Other companies: American Airlines, Lufthansa and TAP. • More trials planned for 2010.

  6. Proyecto OPTIMI (OCEANIC POSITION TRACKING IMPROVEMENT & MONITORING) • Started in Feb’2010. • Aimed to: • Improve aircraft monitoring in oceanic/remote areas • Optimize co-ordination between ATC units and SAR in oceanic areas. • Use of existing technologies (SATCOM, ADS-C, CPDLC - FANS)

  7. Next Steps: • TailoredArrivals in MIA • AIRE II. Air Europa will carry out more oceanic trials in 2010: • Oceanic trials in the North Atlantic airspace. • Oceanic trials in the South Atlantic airspace. • ContinuousDescentApproaches (CDA) in PMI and MAD (Required Time of Arrival – RTA’s .
