  5. Our Customer’s Challenges… • Responding to market dynamics • Driving higher levels of quality/consistency • Managing compliance & regulation • Coordinating with suppliers & vendors • Reducing operating costs • Managing global operations • Increasing operational excellence Global pressure to improve safety, compliance, quality, productivity and cost are forcing companies to evaluate and improve their business processes.

  6. What is ArchestrA Workflow Software? • ArchestrA Workflow Software is an application that enables companies to automate processes that include people, operational, and business systems. • ArchestrA Workflow Software enables companies to Model, Execute, Analyze and Improve work processes to drive higher levels of collaboration, productivity, and innovation.

  7. Benefits of Process Management

  8. Example Workflow Scenario… BPM Maintenance event occurs at shop-floor Event automatically captured and context prepared Workflow Initiated Communication with context sent to Maintenance Maintenance notified ( SMS, Email ) Supervisor notified ( SMS, Email ) Communication shared with Supervisor Maintenance performs inspection and submits report Decision to HOLD production Concurrent communication with Production Scheduler & EAM Application N Y Production continues Maintenance order created in EAM app. Scheduler updates production schedule Maintenance Tech. receives maintenance order on mobile device Communication with Maintenance Tech. Maintenance order closed in EAM app. Concurrent communication with Production Operator & EAM Application Maintenance Tech. completes order Production Operator notified to start production

ArchestrA Workflow SoftwareAnalyze • Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) • Out-of-the-box activity reporting and activity monitoring views • Associate workflows with BAM events • Customizable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) • Standard out-of-the-box performance analysis • Visibility to workflow instances and genealogy • Proactive alerts of business exceptions and KPIs

  15. ArchestrA Workflow SoftwareConnectors & Accelerators • ArchestrA System Platform Connector • Extends standard objects in IDE with a workflow tab to configure workflow events • Provides seamless integration of workflow design and administrative activities from within the IDE • Provides ArchestrA graphic templates for task delivery and response • Wonderware MES Connector • Provides configurable workflow activity to transact with MES middleware, as well as retrieve data • Enables MES middleware events to invoke workflows • Wonderware IntelaTrac Connector • Provides configurable IntelaTrac Action to invoke workflows • Provides configurable workflow activity to invoke IntelaTrac web services

  16. ArchestrA Workflow SoftwareConnectors & Accelerators • SAP Connector • Provides configurable workflow activity that reads/writes information from/to SAP • Exchanges data with SAP using standard RFCs/BAPIs • BizTalk Connector • Invokes workflows from BizTalk orchestrations for human workflow integration • Invokes BizTalk orchestrations from workflows for advanced system integration • SharePoint Accelerator • Provides advanced workflow capability that seamlessly integrates SharePoint with your manufacturing processes

  17. Workflow-Enabled ApplicationsHMI Application Examples • Operator Alarm Response Management – Guide operators through a series of actions to resolve a particular alarm condition. If necessary, collaborate with other resources or escalate to a supervisor. • Electronic Work Instructions – Guide operators through standardized and validated processes that have been established for common production activities such as: machine setup, line shutdown, product changeover, etc. • Model-Driven HMI Logic – Leverage the visual modeling capability to eliminate custom script used for defining process, machine or line control logic at the supervisory level.

  18. Workflow-Enabled ApplicationsMES Application Examples • Specification Change Management – Coordinate appropriate resources, enforce the decision making process, communicate the decision back to the stakeholders, update the target applications (e.g. PLM and MES). • Positive QA Release – Compile data from appropriate sources (MES, Historian, etc.), highlight inconsistencies, coordinate reviews or additional actions based on disposition (e.g. release to distribution, hold for QA review). • QA Hold Resolution – Notify resources to review hold condition, coordinate reviews or additional actions based on disposition (e.g. remove hold, return to vendor) • Model-Driven Business Rule Management – Leverage the visual modeling capability to eliminate the custom script or code used for defining classic MES business rules.

  19. Workflow-Enabled ApplicationsMobile/IntelaTrac Application Examples • Demand Driven Plant Floor Inspections – Leverage the ability to create new procedures as needed for your mobile workforce. • Coordinated HACCP Inspections – Coordinate appropriate resources, enforce the decision making process, communicate the decision back to the stakeholders, update the target applications (e.g. PLM and MES). • Lean Manufacturing Procedure Enforcement/Operator Driven Reliability Support – Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM’s) tasks on all types of well and production equipment, and communicate back to the appropriate target applications • Coordinated Equipment Startup/Shutdown Procedures - Enforce sequencing of work tasks with location verification and access to digital copies of equipment drawings and procedures based on situational awareness.

  20. Workflow-Enabled ApplicationsERP Application Examples • Material Receiving & Inspection – Enforce QA sampling plan, highlight information that is out-of-spec, coordinate any additional reviews or actions required to complete the receiving process, send information to ERP application. • Master Data Approval – Coordinate appropriate resources to review master data changes, enforce the plant-level signoff process, update the appropriate applications (e.g. Quality, MES, LIMS, etc.) on the plant floor. • Production Order Download Synchronization – Receive bulk production orders from ERP, apply plant specific business rules to break down the bulk orders into manufacturing orders. • Production Order Reconciliation – Compile production records associated with a production order, coordinate resources to review the records, highlight inconsistencies with the data, capture changes, send reconciled data to ERP.

  21. Use Scenario for ArchestrA Workflow 2012 for System Platform Environmental Pollution Incident Reporting

  22. Problem Description Environmental pollution is a critical situation in any productionenvironment. To dispose hazardous waste is costly, time consuming, and against the positive public perception of an Enterprise (being green = being good). Anytime pollution occurred, a company is held responsible to provide accurate information on Who was involved, What exactly happened, When did the incident occur, but also What actions have been taken, and Who has been informed

  23. Scenario • Barrels are filled, the weight is controlled, and the barrels are wrapped up and stored in a safe area. At any point, a barrel containing hazardous waste can fall off the conveyor belt. Proposed Solution Provide a system that automatically collects all relevant information such as People, Equipment, Materials, Actions Taken to enable governmental incident reporting.

  24. Solution Participants and Systems • ArchestrA Workflow Software 2012 • Wonderware Application Server 2012 • Wonderware InTouch 2012 • Kevin, the Operator • Michelle, Supervisor

  25. Use Scenario – Representation Did Kevin take action? Kevin opens his inbox and fills the form with relevant information and submits the form. (System ensures information is complete) Workflow is triggered Issue Identified by Conveyor Monitoring system InTouch Screen (Action Needed) Supervisor Approval received Supervisor is notified to review the form submitted by Kevin and approve as appropriate No Yes Yes Escalation sent to Supervisor No App Server updated with contextual information Workflow Ends
