Friday - Day 5: Computer Lab AUCTION! AUCTION! AUCTION! Yes, our first auction will be held on Friday, November 2nd. If you’ve already donated auction items, THANK YOU!!! If not, we are still in need of donated items for this auction. If you can donate a new item or two, please send these items in with your child A.S.A.P. Our auctions wouldn’t be possible without your support. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY! Wow, what another busy week! In math we tackled the very difficult concept of finding the area of complex figures. The students worked very hard on trying to understand this topic. We finished this mini unit and took the unit test on Thursday. From here we will go to unit 3 on multi-digit addition and subtraction word problems. I hope the students know their facts for these operations. In language arts this week the students worked on their personal narrative stories by completing all of the steps in the writing process (prewriting, drafting, editing, and revising). You will have the opportunity to see your child’s completed story at your scheduled conference time. The students have been learning all about the presidential election this past week. Please take some time to talk to your child about this upcoming election. In social studies the students took their states and capitals quiz. They also learned about the people of the Northeast region. Please check with your student to see how many minutes she/he has read for the reading calendar. These are due on November 1st. 400 minutes is everyone’s goal. 20 days for 20 minutes! Have a wonderful weekend!
