Nutritional Information Scenario: -If you go out on average 3 nights/week and drink 5 (1.5 oz) shots of vodka you are consuming an excess of approximately 500 calories/day -An excess of 1,500 calories/week means you will almost gain1 pound every 2 weeks if no other dietary habits are changed (3,500 calories= 1 lb. of fat) -Considering this, it is likely that you are consuming excess calories by food intake because alcohol stimulates appetite

  10. Scenario=Freshman 15 • One semester = 15 weeks • 1 lb. every 2 weeks=7.5 lbs./ semester • You can easily see why the freshman15 is so common • If there are no changes in dietary habits or exercise levels, you will gain 15 lbs. contributed solely from ALCOHOL CALORIES
