  1. 07 GCF using PrimeFactors 20 Example: Circle if Prime 4 x 5 Do “07 Warmup GCF with Prime Factors” in clicker (CPS) database. I know how to do prime factorization (factor trees) A=Yes B=No 20 = 2 x 2 x 5 2 x 2

  2. Find GCF 1st Make Factor Trees for both #’s 2ndList the prime factors inorder for each # 3rdMultiply the common pairs That’s the GCF !

  3. Circle if Prime Example 12 = 2 x 2 x 3 20 = 2 x 2 x 5 GCF(12,20) = 20 12 Make common pairs 4 x 5 4 x 3 2 x 2 = 4 2 x 2 2 x 2

  4. Another Example 2 x 3 = 6 GCF(12,18) = 12 = 2 x 2 x 3 18 = 2 x 3 x 3

  5. Another Example = 12 2 x 2 x 3 GCF(12,24) = 12 = 2 x 2 x 3 24 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 Notice the GCF is one of the #’s !
