  3. Aporia • Definition: A statement of hesitation, also known as dubitation, in which characters express to themselves an actual or feigned doubt or a doubt of  dilemma • Example: I’m not sure where to begin?

  4. Aporia – My Project • I don’t know if it is right for the press to have regulated as we want to know what is going on in the world but at the same time, I feel that people should have privacy.

  5. Aposiopesis • Definition: Abrupt discontinuation of a statement • Example: If you do that again, I will –

  6. Aposiopesis – My Project • The press really should be regulated because they are ---

  7. Asyndeton • Definition: Absence of conjunctions, not conjunctions present. • Example: We cannot dedicate, we cannot consecrate, we cannot hallow this ground

  8. Asyndeton – My Project There are no conjunctions in the Olympic Motto. They could have put, “faster and higher and stronger”, but this doesn’t make the same powerful affect. ” Faster, Higher, Stronger".

  9. Apostrophe • Definition: Interruption of thought to directly address a person or a personification • Example: He tried to betray you, to cheat you, to deceive you.

  10. Apostrophe – My Project • Don’t you think the Olympics has left a good legacy?

To Summarize • Aporia – a hesitation or doubt - I don’t know if it is right for the press to have regulated as we want to know what is going on in the world but at the same time, I feel that people should have privacy. • Aposiopesis - Abrupt discontinuation of a statement - The press really should be regulated because they are --- • Apostrophe - Interruption of thought to directly address a person or a personification Don’t you think that the Olympic has left a good legacy? • Asyndeton - Absence of conjunctions, not conjunctions present - " Faster, Higher, Stronger”.
