Bring handout and text to class.[COMM 1201/Course Content/Basic Handouts] • Informative/demonstration topics due next class. Pick 2 possible topics for your speech.See suggestions on Informative Speech Handout • Bring in all panel materials to next class: note cards, resources, etc, for final panel group meetings in class. You will need a total offour (4) Panel Evaluation sheets for next week. • Reminder: Annotated Bibliography is due nextweek on date of your Panel Discussion.

GENERAL PURPOSE: • To inform (to convey information) • SPECIFIC PURPOSE: • To inform my audience of the different types of alpine ski races • CENTRAL IDEA: • The three major types of alpine ski races are the downhill, the slalom, and the giant slalom.MAIN POINTS:I. The first major race in alpine skiing is the downhill. • II. The second major race in alpine skiing is the slalom.III. The third major race in alpine skiing is the giant slalom. Camera Pointers • Set up your area first • Plant feet for balanced stance • Wait for signal to begin • Pause, breathe, smile • Think of opening word/words(Not “um”, “er”, “okay” “here goes”) • Eye contact with audience and camera(Not staring and not avoiding) • At end remain in place briefly • Leave note card in basket(Print your name & class number on it)
