The best time to pour concrete is when the weather is warm. Do not perform this task if the surface temperature can drop below 35 degrees Fahrenheit. Cover concrete if there is an unexpected temperature drop within a week of lying. Although it takes almost a month for concrete to fully cure, the curing process is most delicate during the first few days after pouring. What you do during this period will affect whether shrinkage cracks will eventually form. CAREFULLY CURING CONCRETE: KEEP AN EYE ON THE WEATHER
ADD REBAR: Add Rebar: - To add extra strength to the concrete, consider adding rebar underneath. For rebar or smaller projects, wire mesh can help extend the life of concrete and reduce the number of cracks in the future. Use Control Joints: Concrete with control joints will inevitably crack at some point, but including control joints prevents random occurrences. Instead, you can target cracks where they are easier to repair with concrete sealer. Add control joints within 24 hours of pouring.
