  1. CDT Codes to Report Dental Restoration Procedures There are specific ICD-10 codes to report dental restoration procedures such as crowns and bridges, fillings, implants and dentures. 8596 E. 101st Street, Suite H, Tulsa, OK 74133

  2. Also referred to as restorative dentistry, dental restorations are dental procedures to repair or replace teeth. Dental restorations can fix problems such as tooth structures missing due to decay, deterioration, or fracture of a tooth. These procedures also help restore the function of the teeth, improve the appearance of the teeth, prevent further dental issues, eliminate the pain caused by infections, and preserve bone density. Crowns and bridges, fillings, implants and dentures are different types of dental restorations. Orthodontists or dentists performing these procedures can rely on professional coding and dental billing services to assign the right codes and ensure timely and accurate claim submission. Different Types of Dental Restorations and Related CDT Codes Crowns and Bridges While a crown is an indirect tooth restoration method where a tooth-shaped “cap” is placed over a tooth to restore its shape and appearance, a bridge is an artificial tooth suspended between two crowns to cover multiple damaged teeth. Dentures Made of acrylic resin or combined with metal attachments, dentures are the best replacement option if there are not enough healthy teeth in the mouth that function properly. •D5110 Complete denture – maxillary •D5120 Complete denture – mandibular •D5130 Immediate denture – maxillary •D5140 Immediate denture – mandibular •D5211 Maxillary partial denture – resin base (including any conventional clasps, rests and teeth) To assign the right CDT codes, it is important for the practice’s coding team to be up to date with coding changes and guidelines. Partnering with an experienced dental billing company is an ideal option to ensure error-free claim submission. www.outsourcestrategies.com 918-221-7769
