  4. The blue part is the part that we are trying to find the blue part is the area Circle We are NOT trying to find the yellow part

  5. The red line and the purple line together makes the diameter the radius is always half of the diameter. The purple line represents the radius

  6. Things to Know 2 R The radius is always half of the diameter. So if you have a problem and they just give you the diameter your divided it by two. 2 R means to multiply the radius by its self is called squaring it .

  7. Now that you have the basics , now its time to learn how to work a real one.

  10. the radius is 5 use 3.14 for pi 3.14 5 2 So this is how your problem would look x

  11. Now follow orders of operations!! 3.14 5 2 x First you have to do 5 x 5 = Which is 25

  12. Now follow orders of operations!! 3.14 25 x Next you have to do 3.14x25= Which is 78.5

  13. 78.5cm is your area 2
