  1. So, that is a broad, philosophical description of what a public relations agency does, at a broadest level. Let's now discuss what a professional in public relations does. A public relations specialist is responsible for gathering and disseminating information, and responding to any requests. Public relations specialists also ensure that public relations company in Malaysia public figures are well-respected by news agencies and other media organizations. Politicians, athletes and talk-show hosts are all examples of public figures. Public relations specialists usually manage or supervise the PR campaigns for these public figures. Another aspect of public relations that isn't as philosophical is what happens when the public relations agency is asked to do a piece of investigative work for a newspaper, magazine, television station, etc. Sometimes this type of newsgathering is referred to as "behind the scene" work. Because reporters or other media personnel don't wish to deal with the press releases and public relations, this type of coverage may require the assistance of a PR company. In this case, the agency would handle all of the PR work, making sure that the story is well-kept, the facts are accurate, and that the target audience receives the correct message. A public relations agency will sometimes be called upon to defend a particular company, politician, athlete or celebrity against an attack advertisement or defamation suit. The company's reputation will be at risk in this instance, so the public relations agency must do all it can to protect it before the court of opinion. Sometimes media personalities are in trouble, particularly if they respond negatively to negative news stories. The same goes for sports teams, business people, bands and musicians. Public relations agencies may be asked to represent a public figure accused of sexual harassment, or any other crime. The PR agency may need to develop a variety of public statements and social media strategies in order to defend the individual. It may be necessary for the PR firm to provide information, such as compiling a list containing recent incidents of sexual harassment. The statements could be made on social media, in press releases and on company websites. Many PR agencies also perform media liaison. This is where they collaborate with radio stations, television stations, newspapers and other organizations to spread news about specific companies, people, or organizations. It could include creating press releases and personal correspondences. A PR company might even find a way to have news posted about a new product or service on store shelves right around the same time as it becomes public. This liaison can also be used to maintain celebrity reputations. Public relations agencies often write articles for magazines and newspapers that are publicized. These are generally written by freelance writers who are contracted through a good agency. They create articles specifically for that product and then post them on various directories. A PR agency can increase website traffic by placing informative articles on the internet if they are placed in the right context. A PR firm will be good at finding keywords that are likely to draw attention to a product. There are no limits on what can be published or written about an organization and business via social media. A public relations agency can post press releases and commentaries on a company's brand or business to Facebook,

  2. Twitter or MySpace. The same goes for blogs. An PR company can create blogs relevant to the business, and post links to their website or Facebook pages whenever it is interesting. This allows you to market your brand, and keeps the public updated about new trends and events.
