  7. Accessing Enrollments The 2012 NeSA Enrollments window is October 3-14, 2011 • Enrollments Menu • Administration dropdown • NEW! NeSA-RMS Spring 2012 administration • District and School dropdowns • Show Enrollments button • Instructions

Accessing Enrollments • District-level users may supply enrollment information for all schools within the district. • District-level users may authorize other personnel in the district to assist with entering enrollments. • District-level users may designate school-level users to supply enrollment information for specific schools.

  9. STEP 1 Answer Questions about Testing Mode • The decision to test reading, mathematics, or science online or on paper must be made at the school level in Enrollments. • Schools may select online or paper/pencil as the primary testing mode by subject. • Schools will not be able to change testing mode after Enrollments closes on October 14, 2011.

  10. STEP 1 Answer Questions About Testing Mode • Will this school administer the NeSA-Reading Test online?Yes or No • Will this school administer the NeSA-Mathematics Test online?Yes or No • Will this school administer the NeSA-Science Test online?Yes or No

Entering Enrollments • Number of students—not individual student information (student demographics come from NSSRS). • Enter the number of students who need specific types of test materials. • DRC and NDE determine the type and amount of materials to send to each site based on the information you provide.

  12. Entering Enrollments • Enter actual student counts—no need to order extra. • DRC’s estimating process accounts for a certain level of change between the close of the Enrollments System and the testing window.

STEP 2 Total Number of Students Enrolled • Complete fields for every school. • Enter zero for each grade for which the school does not have any students enrolled. • Include all students, even those who will take the Alternate Assessment. Alternate Assessment enrollment counts will be designated by the Alternate Assessment flag in NSSRS.

STEP 3 Enter Subject-Specific Enrollments • Answers to the questions about test mode in Step 1 affect the remaining fields you need to complete in Step 3. • For reading, mathematics, and/or science, if you answered Yes, the majority of the students at the school are expected to take the test for the given subject online. • For reading, mathematics, and/or science, if you answered No, DRC will send paper booklets for the given subject for the ‘TOTAL NUMBER OF STUDENTS ENROLLED.’

STEP 3Enter Subject-Specific Enrollments for Reading • Only enter quantities in the ‘Paper (Online Schools Only)’ row if you answered Yes to Question One. • Enter the number of students who need Large Print, Contracted Braille, or Uncontracted Braille accommodated NeSA-Reading materials. • Enter the number of students who need “Paper English to accompany Spanish Translation” materials. Order paper Spanish translations of the NeSA-Reading materials from NDE.

STEP 3Enter Subject-Specific Enrollments for Mathematics • Only enter quantities in the ‘Paper (Online Schools Only)’ row if you answered Yes to Question Two. • Enter the number of students who need Large Print, Contracted Braille, or Uncontracted Braille accommodated NeSA-Mathematics materials. • Enter the number of students who need “Paper Spanish Translation” materials. DRC will ship both Spanish and English versions of NeSA-Mathematics materials.

STEP 3Enter Subject-Specific Enrollments for Science • Only enter quantities in the ‘Paper (Online Schools Only)’ row if you answered Yes to Question Three. • Enter the number of students who need Large Print, Contracted Braille, or Uncontracted Braille accommodated NeSA-Science materials. • Enter the number of students who need “Paper Spanish Translation” materials. DRC will ship both Spanish and English versions of NeSA-Science materials.

  18. STEP 3Enter Subject-Specific Enrollments for Writing – Grade 4 • Grade 4 NeSA-Writing will be administered to all students on paper. DRC will ship materials based on the TOTAL NUMBER OF STUDENTS ENROLLED in grade 4. • NDE will send Spanish translations of the NeSA-Writing topic for grade 4 based on the “Paper for students responding in Spanish” quantities. Spanish responses should be written in a regular NeSA-Writing Booklet. • Enter the number of students responding in a language other than English or Spanish. Responses in foreign languages should be written in a regular NeSA-Writing Booklet.

  19. STEP 3Enter Subject-Specific Enrollments for Writing – Grades 8 and 11 • Grades 8 and 11 NeSA-Writing will be administered primarily online. • Students may only take grades 8 or 11 NeSA-Writing on paper… • If the accommodation is specified in their IEPs or 504 Plans; • If they are responding in a foreign language; or • If they are enrolled in a Rule 18 school.

STEP 3Enter Subject-Specific Enrollments for Writing – Grades 8 and 11 • NDE will send Spanish translations of NeSA-Writing topics and DRC will provide regular NeSA-Writing Booklets for grades 8 and 11 based on the “Paper for students responding in Spanish” quantities. • DRC will provide regular NeSA-Writing Booklets for grades 8 and 11 based on the “Paper for students responding in a language other than English or Spanish” quantities.

  21. STEP 4 Completing Enrollments • Save vs. Complete • Districts/schools may change information in Enrollments any time between October 3 and October 14, 2011. • Must click Complete before October 14, 2011. • During the second week of the Enrollments window, DRC will send reminders to any district that has not logged in and/or completed enrollments for all schools.

STEP 5Verify Shipping Information • Contact the NDE Statewide Assessment office at (402) 471-2495 or nde.stateassessment@nebraska.gov with any changes to the Shipping Information displayed in eDIRECT. • The NDE Statewide Assessment office will update its records and forward any changes to DRC.

Summary and Status Report • Summary shows the answers to the testing mode questions and enrollment counts for any school that has saved OR completed information in Enrollments. • Status Report shows the status of each school’s activity in the Enrollments System. • Not Started • In Progress • Completed

Assigning Others Permission to Enrollments in eDIRECT • Update user accounts for the new administration • Click on the Profiles tab. • Select all user profiles you want to copy to the new administration. • Click the Copy to New Administration button. • All permissions assigned to the user in the previous administration will be transferred to the new administration.
