  1. Black Economic Empowerment Plan Assists Economically Disadvantaged Black People The goal of black economic empowerment plan is to correct inequalities that were placed on the population in the past by way of policies or systems of segregation and discrimination on grounds of race. It focuses on supporting the black people who lack opportunities in terms of educational and skill development. The plan encourages and stimulates the process of participation of so-called organizations to stand up and help the people, especially those deprived and economically disadvantaged black people in the economic system. Also, it focuses on contributing to economic growth. Supporting the Disadvantaged Society Purpose of Black Economic Empowerment Program In the past, the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowermentstrategy has claimed to be the leaders of, and to improve the economic position of black people in America’s economic system. The main aim of this plan was to ensure that the economy was structured as well as transformed, so that it would enable a structure that created more jobs and opportunities where we would be able to pull ourselves out of the horrible pit of oppression that exist. That has never happened. In fact it was never meant to happen. w w w . p a i n j o y p a i n . c o m Page 1

  2. The program or plan was to reform the economy at all levels, through skill development, employment equity, socio-economic and enterprise development, preferential procurement, particularly small and medium enterprises, and promoting the entry of black entrepreneurs into all areas of business and economic activity. The plan was also to focus on implementing policies for the advancement of co-operatives in an effective and sustainable manner, so that it can unleash and harness the full potential of black people. Thiswould have helped foster the goals of a pro-employment developmental growth path. Empowering Black People Reforming the Economy Creating a Basis for Equal Treatment Black economic empowerment programsoften called code of good practice for the empowerment of black people. Every human should have equal rights irrespective of class, caste or creed. To keep in mind this empowerment plan has emerged for the right to equality and fulfils the formal element of equality by creating a basis of equal treatment. Despite the right to equality and get equal opportunities in every walk of life, not all black people are born to equal circumstances. The history of oppression and inequality against black people are horrible. It has resulted in an economic and opportunity based on race. Today also many black people in different parts of the world, including America cannot enjoy the same opportunities. w w w . p a i n j o y p a i n . c o m Page 2
