  3. My Career Vision • I would like to become a Business Teacher • Or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) • I like working with numbers, money, and people • I would like to work as an accounting clerk to help me earn money for school

  4. My Lifestyle Goals • Live in a small community • Earn a good income • Work with people • Help others to learn • Work with youth

  5. My Personality Traits • I am outgoing & friendly • I am trustworthy & dependable • I like to solve problems • I am creative • I have good communication skills

  6. A Few Career Possibilities • Accounting Clerks • Two years of high school accounting • An associate degree in college • Work as Accounts Receivable/Payable Clerk • CPAs • College degree • Pass CPA test • Work for a large company

More Career Choices • Lawyers, Doctors, Farmers, CEO • May not do accounting directly • Need to know about accounting • Should take an accounting class in high school or college • Will need to make business decisions • Accounting Teachers • College degree in Business • Minor or classes in accounting

My Goal • Take accounting in high school • Work in the office of a local business • Graduate from high school with a 3.8 GPA • Attend college & earn an Associate Degree • Graduate from college with a Business Degree • Take classes in Accounting • Get a teaching certificate • Teach in a rural community

  9. Education & Training • Taking high school Accounting • Learning spreadsheets & other computer applications • Plan to do School to Work in for a local accountant • Plan to go to college at USU in their Business Information Systems program

  10. Work Experience • Secretary for Youth City Council • Worked as a cashier at Safeway • Treasurer for FBLA • Farm laborer—tractor & livestock work • President of youth church group
