    2. Purpose of PackTags Underpinning of PackML architecture. Provide for both peer to peer control communication and enterprise level machine information. Provide key performance metrics to allow OEE calculations and beyond.

    3. Goals of Ver 2.0 Expand scope of guideline to include PackML line types 2b and above. Standardize time format Provide expanded functionality by converting some data types from Boolean to binary. Expandable standard reason texts and codes. Provide for supplemental reason codes.

    4. Goals of Ver 2.0 Provide explanations and examples for specific tags. Add appendix to provide standardized reason codes. Evaluate Weinstaphaner and Krones standard for applicability and consistency. Publish Version 2.0 for public comment in December 2003.

    5. Next Steps Add tag for product identification supporting RFID, and similar technologies. Delete Ver 2.0 section 3.7.21 pertaining to Transition Trigger Report. Generate a revision tracking section. Public comments None received from general public during 30 day public comment period. Audience comments

    6. Recommendation Recommendation to Executive committee to adopt Version 2.0 of the PackML Pack Tags.
