  1. Constructive simulation in Slovak Armed Forces Igor Petz Slovak republic

  2. OTB in training • OTB in combination with Stealth (MetaVR and Mäk) • Battalion and brigade exercises • Own AAR tool

  3. OTB in training • 2 simulation Centers • Each has 30 simulation PCs • Functional since 2000, built from FMF • From the beginning till now, both centers executed 105 exercises (in past few years 20 per year) • Using ModSAF, OTB 1.0 and now OTB2.5

  4. Wide range of functionality • Mechanized units • Air force • Standard in OTB • Specialized units • Not fully supported in official release • Changes available through source code modification • Wide range of parametric data

  5. Areas of use • Mechanized and armor units • Air force units • Air defense units • Artillery units • Logistics and engineers units • NBC units • Crisis management entities • Medical units

  6. OTB – integrating role for other types of simulation • Simulation Center in MTA Lest was built so that all types of simulation will be integrated • Connection to virtual simulators • Connection to live simulation (planned) • Connection to C2 systems (planned)

  7. Add-ons • Air defense • Artillery • Floods • Chemical areas – movement based on environment, contamination • Epidemic – infection, vaccination, injury

  8. Air defense • 12 channels AA systems • Fire direction, manual firing • IKO – identifier of circle horizon • Ground to air and air to air rockets changing from guided missiles to ballistic missiles with dynamic resolving

  9. Air defense -IKO

  10. Air defense - 6 channel system

  11. Artillery • Artillery observers editor • Stop Artillery fire

  12. Floods • Flood movement • Evacuation – crisis management

  13. Chemical areas

  14. Chemical areas - contamination

  15. Chemical areas - decontamination

  16. Epidemic

  17. Future plans • Fire prevention module • Trains and Railroads • Upgrade to OneSAF • Preparation of UHRB terrains • Expand crisis management functionality • What are we still missing – possibility to dynamically change unit hierarchy during exercise
