  1. Computers in today’s world In the last 20 years computer technology has drastically improved. When computers were first invented they were huge one computer would take up a whole room and more than one person to operate it, now they can fit in your bag. They are now used almost anywhere you go.

  2. The use of Computers • The influence of computers is universal. Computers are used in applications ranging from running a farm, finding a cure for a disease, and designing to constructing and launching a space vehicle. Because the development of computers has been largely the work of scientists, it is natural that a large number of computer applications are for scientist. To solve scientific problems researchers must deal with the language of science, which is mathematics. • Computers are also used in schools, mainly college campuses but grade schools are also starting to use them. • Another big use of computers is keeping records, almost anywhere you go records are kept, for example doctor and dentist offices keep records of their patients and makes their schedules.

  3. Will they continue to be used? • Since 1980 computer production has almost tripled, with the help of Microsoft • I think computers will continue to get better and faster as technology increases. • Records have to be stored somewhere, most people would rather store them on a computer because it is easier to categorize files and look them up faster.

  4. What if we didn’t have computers? • If we didn’t have computers everything would have to be stored on paper and put in file cabinets. • There would be no audio or video editing, so movies wouldn’t be as realistic as they are now.
