  1. Research & Evaluation Review Process Regional Technical Forum June 18, 2013

  2. Research & Evaluation Review Structure • A core Research & Evaluation (R&E) group has been formed • This is a subset of the larger R&E subcommittee (50+ members) which will be primarily used for “information scanning”. • The core group is a focus group that will provide feedback on the actual R&E plans and communicate issues to the larger group as needed. • This core group consists of 15 voluntary members that have expertise in evaluation. • RTF staff plan to update the larger group monthly via email. • This email will summarize R&E Subcommittee accomplishments and highlight opportunities for larger group input.

  3. Research & Evaluation Review Process • All research plans that are brought forward to this core group should have already been reviewed by an applicable technical subcommittee. • If an applicable technical subcommittee does not exist, RTF staff will conduct an initial review of this document. • Majority of the communication will be done via email, facilitated by staff. This core group will meet on an as needed basis. • A R&E plan will be considered complete based on the consent of the R&E Core Group. • As a first step, RTF staff and Marjorie McRae (RIA), have developed a R&E template and gathered feedback from the R&E Core Group on the content. • This template was used to develop a R&E plan for Anti Sweat Heater Controls (ASHC) as an illustrative example. • A Scoring Sheet to assess the completeness of R&E plans has been developed as well. • This will ensure consistency in R&E plan content and quality going forward.

  4. Presentation of Draft Templates • Draft R&E plan template • Draft R&E plan for ASHC • Scoring Sheet to assess R&E plan completeness • Any questions? RTF feedback is welcome.
