  1. Our SOvereign Muhammad FakhrulSyazwan Bin Kamarudin Myra AtiqaBintiMohdHisham Pak Seyi (Nimo)

  2. WIMP AND GUI (Windows, Icons, Menus and Pointer) WIMP AND GUI VIRTUAL REALITY ARGUMENTED & MIXED REALITY Main Design Research Issues

  3. WIMP – Main Design • Windows – Rectangular are on the screen that can be could be scrolled, stretched, overlapped, opened, closed, and moved around the screen using the mouse • Icons – Pictures or icons that represents applications, objects, commands, and tools that were opened when clicked on • Menus – offering lists of options that could be scrolled through and which the users can select • Pointing device – a mouse controlling the cursor as a point of entry to the windows, menus, and icons on the screen

  4. WIMP - Design

  5. GUI – Main Design • Same as WIMP but more varied. • Has more colors, sound, animation advanced 3D interface • New toolbars, docks, rollovers and more.

  6. GUI – Design

  7. WIMP & GUI - Research Issues • How to easily enable users to move between different windows • How to switch windows without getting distracted • Spacing, grouping and simplicity in the design should also be considered • Naming or labels for menus. • Placement of content in the list is important. For example, the option quit and save need to be far apart. • Text labels should be used alongside with the icons for identification. • There are lots of resources of icons now so users don’t have to build them from scratch

  8. VIRTUAL REALITY – Main Design • Graphical simulation • Enables users to interact with objects and navigate in a 3D space • Replicates an environment that simulates physical presence of users in real or imagined worlds and lets them interact with that world.

  9. VIRTUAL REALITY – DESIGN

  10. VIRTUAL REALITY – Research Issues • Many research have been made on how to design safe and realistic virtual reality to facilitate training and overcoming phobias. • Design issues: How to navigate through them How to control movements and interactions How to interact with information

  11. AUGMENTED AND MIXED REALITY– Main Design • Mixes virtual objects with view of real world • Virtual Reality (completely virtual worlds) • Properties: real-time, interactive, 3D • Tracking + rendering + display

  12. AUGMENTED AND MIXED REALITY – Design

  13. AUGMENTED AND MIXED REALITY – Research Issues • Conflict between real world and virtual - Not neatly separated anymore • Limitations of displays an controller - Precise, fast registration & tracking • Spatially seamless display & Interactivity

  14. Our Sovereign END THANK YOU !!
