  3. Habitat and Environment All penguins live in different parts of the world but they all live south of the equator. From the parts of South America all the way to New Zealand penguins rule the southern part of the equator! Source: Penguin Map page 3

  4. Food Like all living things, penguins have to eat, too. Since they are such excellent swimmers, they use that to catch food. Penguins are known to eat numerous types of fish, shrimp, and even sometimes squid! Page 4

  5. Body Parts • The adult penguins feather are black and white. They are hunted by humans for their blubber, feathers, and beaks. The children and the parent’s bodies are torpedo-like for tobogganing( See page 6 for more). • Page 5

  6. Movement • The penguins move from place to place on there bellies ,swimming, and waddling. When the penguins slide on their bellies it is called tobogganing. Penguins do this and enjoy it quite. Some can swim up to 15 mph but not all. It mostly depends on the spices of the penguin. Page 6

  7. Types of Penguins • Some of the different types of penguins are Adelie penguin ,African penguin, chinstrap penguin, emperor penguin, Galapagos penguin, gentoo penguin, king penguin, little blue penguin, Magellan penguin, rock hopper penguin, royal penguin, and yellow-eyed penguin. • Page 7

  8. Reproduction • A baby penguin's egg is white and gray. The egg is kept warm by its parents, but some times the egg does not survive because of the ice and the coldness in the artic. Because some penguins are kept in zoos, some survive so the extinction of penguins will not be soon.
