  1. It is 2018 and the digital age is growing at a very fast pace, so is eCommerce along with it. So, it is understandable that most businesses that are popping up are looking to set up a webshop instead of a retail shop to attract more customers. As the need for eCommerce websites rise, various platforms designed plugins to transform a website into a webshop and several other platforms were launched exclusively for eCommerce. For startups which are still looking for a suitable platform to choose for their webshop, the two most mentioned options are generally Magentoand WooCommerce. WooCommerce is an eCommerceplugin that lets one transform a WordPress website into an eCommerce website while magento is a platform exclusively designed for developing eCommerce websites.

  2. Both having their own benefits and downsides, it is a very tough choice to make when it comes to pick one out of the two. This can be made easier if one is well aware of all the plus points and drawbacks of both. MagentovsWooCommerce 1. Usability of the open source version Both WooCommerce as well as Magento are available as open source. So, for startups looking for developing a webshop without spending more money, both are the ideal choices. However, just like no good thing comes for free, the best of the features of are available in premium versions of both the platforms.

  3. The open source version of WooCommerce suitable only for beginner level stores. So, when it comes to expanding the webshop and adding new features, one has to purchase the premium version for sure. On the other hand, the open source version of Magento has many features available and is very flexible. While the capabilities of open source WooCommerce may seem to be limited, Magento offers a larger number of features and themes, enough to easily enable one to scale up the store with less hassle. Winner:

  4. 2. Speed and performance For this factor, if one compares Magento 1 with WooCommerce, the clear winner would be wooCommerce as Magento 1 has a reputation of being slow and having a really complicated backed. But, after Magento 2 was launched in 2015, Magento was back in the game of eCommerce platforms with improved performance and page loading speed. Though the number of plugins and the level of optimisation has a lot to contribute to the page speed, the choice of platform does play an important role too. If one compares a well-optimised Magento 2 webshop and a WooCommercewebshop with a similar database size, the performance results and loading speeds will be close to each other. Winner:   and

  5. 3. eCommerceFeatures For this category, let us just hand over the award to Magento and get it done with. Why? Because Magento is a platform designed exclusively for eCommerce while WooCommerce is merely a plugin that can convert a WordPressCMS website into a webshop. Though WooCommerce brings to the table all the features that Wordpress offers its users, those features are not appealing enough from eCommerce point of view.  On the other hand, Magento has all the features that any eCommerce platform would require. It also has a plugin for designing a B2B eCommerce website. So, clearly, Magento will grab more eyeballs when it comes to the eCommerce features offered. Winner:

  6. 4. Ease of use This is a category where Magento cannot even come close to WooCommerce. When it comes to ease of use and being user friendly, WordPress is the best known CMS platform. So, the same ease is extended to WooCommerce as it is a WordPresspluginafterall. On the other hand, Magneto is a robust eCommerce platform and is not known to be very user friendly, especially for beginners.  In case of WooCommerce, anyone with a little knowledge of computers can easily develop a webshop with all the basic and even most of the advanced functionalities. But, for Magento, there is no way one can do the same without gaining at least an intermediate knowledge of the platform.

  7. Though there are many user tutorials and official documentations which can teach one a lot, it is impossible to deploy a complete Magentowebshop just by that knowledge. The point being, WooCommerce leads by several points here. Winner:   The Final Verdict There is no way to declare a definite winner in this case as a lot of that choice depends on the needs and requirements of the business. If it is a small business, WooCommerce may be the suitable choice as you can develop the website without hiring an eCommerce development agency and save expenses.

  8. But, adding better functionalities to the webshop and getting it custom designed by magento solutions specialists would give you a very appealing webshop, enabling you to attract more customers. So, if you asked me, the award of the best eCommerce website development goes to: Originally Posted On:-https://bit.ly/2u3RaXc
