  5. This is a new way of looking at courses and qualifications. It allows language learners to measure what they can do at all stages of language learning including the very early ones.Cecilia Rojas Leicester Adult Education College

  10. The can-do statements:Speaking Breakthrough Stage Grade 1 I can say/repeat a few words and short simple phrases. Grade 2 I can answer simple questions and give basic information. Grade 3 I can ask and answer simple questions and talk about my interests. Preliminary Stage Grade 4 I can take part in a simple conversation and I can express my opinions.

  11. The great thing about Asset Languages is that it actually recognises what pupils can do, not what they’ve learnt on a course or programme of study…..we haven’t had to alter the way we teach languages in order to offer the qualification.Liz Ellis Bournville Junior School
