  6. COLLEGE WORK Planning for Grade 12 • Begin with the end in mind: • Work? Apprenticeship? College? University? • Need to do more self assessment? • Pick up list of internet resource sites from the Walk-in Counsellor

Research the institutions online

Dual Credit Program (via Co-op)**Connected with Local Colleges** • Earn College credits AND finish high school AT THE SAME TIME • Attend college classes, 1-2 days/week • Many different options (i.e. ECE, or Electical or Plumbing) • Provided at Central Peel through the co-op program (*must select co-op 4 credit program) • Co-op teachers can provide detailed information

  21. SHSM ***If already enrolled Ensure you are meeting your Course Requirements for a SHSM in Grade 12 Example: • 2 Business Studies Courses or Sports related courses (overall 4 gr 11/12) • 1 Gr. 12 English Course • 1 Gr. 12 Math Course (Bus. SHSM only)

Additionally… • With ‘Full Disclosure’, Universities and Colleges will receive all of your grade 11 course marks. • Arts courses at the 3O0 level are pre-requisites for 4M0 courses (ignore myblueprint message) i.e. AWQ 3O0 – AWQ 4M0 i.e. AVI 3O0 – AVI 4M0 Think about not only courses you require, but also courses you enjoy and broaden your experience

Myths Corrected • Universities DO NOT CARE whether you have extra college, open or workplace credits on your record – only that you have a minimum of 6 grade 12 U or M courses • RESEARCH pre-requisites for university/college: For example - many programs DO NOT require grade 12 math, whereas some others require two

  24. Course Selection Process ONLINE –through your High School Planner on myblueprint START PLANNING NOW and SUBMIT ONCE! The submit button will be active from now to Jan 14 only!!

Course Selection Process DO NOT click the Submit button unless you are absolutely sure about the courses you have chosen Ready to submit? • Between now and Jan 14, click Submit Courses and follow the instructions • When your courses have been submitted, you will be “locked out” and unable to make changes • A verification letter in late Feb. will be your only opportunity to reconsider the courses you selected
